  62. Sense and Sensibility is the story of two sisters; 
  63. pragmatic Elinor (Thompson) and passionate, wilful 
  64. Marianne (Winslet). When their father, henry 
  65. Dashwood, dies, by law his estate must pass to the 
  66. eldest son from his first marriage. Suddenly homeless 
  67. and impovrished, his current wife and daughters find 
  68. themselves living in a simple country cottage.
  69. The two sisters are soon accepted into their new 
  70. society. Marianne becomes swept up in a 
  71. passionate love affair with the dashing Willoughby 
  72. (Wise), while Elinor struggles to keep a tight rein on 
  73. the family purse strings and to keep her feelings for 
  74. Edward Ferrars (Grant), whom she left behind, 
  75. hidden from her family. Despite their different 
  76. personalities, they both experience great sorrow in 
  77. their affairs, but they learn to mix sense with 
  78. sensibility in a society that is obsessed with both 
  79. financial and social status.
